Paris, France

There are many theories on the origins of the family name Parris. One is that it derives from the name of the French capital. The surname has also been traced back to England and Ireland in the fourteenth century. Interestingly, while visiting Cyprus in the Mediterranean in 1992, I was informed by our Greek travel guide that Parris is also a Greek name.

Sadly, I have also heard it is the name of the last witch to be burned at the stake in Scotland. Hm!

Intrigue and mystery surround the Parris surname.

Paris, France

Apparently the surnames Parris, Parish, and Parrish are  all interrelated.

Unfortunately I have never visited Paris in France, although I hear the French cuisine is excellent.

I wonder what frogs legs taste like? Ho! Ho! Ho!' I love Paris in the spring time... Ooh La La ....'

Have you tasted Scottish Haggis?

You'll never know 'til you give it a go!
