I was introduced to the physical world
in Alexandria, Egypt in October of the year 1945.
My Father John Parris, was born in
Portsmouth, England and worked in the shipyards in Alexandria during the
Second World War.
It was there that he met my mother
Angelina Lerario who was born in Bari, Italy.
I travelled to Rosyth in Fife, Scotland
at the age of 3 months where my father worked in Rosyth Dockyard until he
retired.
I have returned to Egypt only once in
my lifetime. It was during a holiday to Cyprus that I visited Cairo, the
famous Museum there, the Pyramids and the Sphinx'. Unfortunately time
restrictions meant we were unable to visit my birthplace Alexandria.

A day in Israel and Bethlehem was also
part of that memorable journey. It was an experience to be remembered
forevermore. The birth place of Jesus is pictured on the left.
